Mystic Fire Drum Troupe
This shot was taken on stage at the Norva theater in Norfolk, VA. Mystic Fire's original CD "Shatter" is still available online at CDBaby.com!
A Drug and a Prayer - 2012 NCHB 1st place quartet winner
This shot was taken at the 2012 North Carolina Harmony Brigade rally on Saturday night during the quartet finals. None of the quartets we had competed with the previous night made the cut for the top 10 and we were selected as the wild card quartet. The combination of guys and a tough song called "Jazz Me Blues" proved to be a winning combination.
Atlantic Harmony Brigade (AHB)
Ah, the Atlantic Harmony Brigade (AHB) - the event that got me hooked on Extreme Quartetting. The two guys to the left of me in the picture are Jim Toth and Steve Armstrong - just two of the folks I've convinced to come join in the fun!
Jew's Harp lesson in the SCA
While I don't play in the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA) any more it was a big part of my life for 16 years. This shot was taken the day I took Lady Gwendolen ferch Cadwaladr ap Rhys as my protegee. The first lesson as my student - how not to chip your teeth with a Jew's Harp! Gwendolen went on to become a Mistress of the Pelican in her own right. :)

My name is Ross E. Wilkins and I'd like to welcome you to Gud2BRabah.com! Why choose Gud2BRabah? Because quite simply, it is Good To Be the Rabah!
I am an Eagle Scout. I served in the United States Navy for 12 years reaching the rank of Petty Officer First Class (E6) as a Cryptologic Technician (Communications Branch). For the most part I have been working for Navy contractors ever since.
I'm an amateur musician. I've played the French Horn, the Jew's Harp, and a Dumbek. My passion is a cappella singing, from duets to 16 part arrangements and I'm a fan of more a cappella groups than I'm willing to list here.
I received two Associates Degrees from Leeward Community College in Pearl City, HI in 1988 and finally got my Bachelor's Degree from ECPI University in 2012. My degrees are in Information and Computer Science with an emphasis on Database Programming.
I have held membership in the Boy Scouts, American Mensa, the Society for Creative Anachronism, Inc. (SCA), the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS), Phi Theta Kappa and Gold Key International Honor Societies, and two Harmony Brigades, Atlantic (AHB) and North Carolina (NCHB).
Feel free to poke around. This site is a work in progress and you never know what bit I may add next.
So where did "Rabah" come from? I portrayed a 16th Century Ottoman Turk named Mu'allim Rabah az-Zafar, OP in the SCA . As I understand it, "Rabah az-Zafar" loosely translates to "Gain the Victory". "Mu'allim" is a title that denotes my inclusion into the Order of the Pelican, the society-wide Peerage that is given for high level service to the society.
I am a real-bearded Santa Claus and a member of the International Brotherhood of Real-Bearded Santas (IBRBS). If you are interested in hiring me to be Santa Claus for your event feel free to email me at "firstname.lastname@example.org". I can provide a current background check and proof of insurance if required.
